Progress: I tended to just remake the original poster seen on the left with a new texture, Flowers, and to have four different guns used in the poster. Along with changing the color of the background and the shadow effect on the border. A little later on, I changed my mind as seen in the Notes (middle image) that I was gonna keep it blue but have two different guns, with pink and red flowers. I have also been given good advice to add some text to the poster. To either make it a call to action or an informative piece. I went down the informative route, and the text was going to be on gun safety.
As I was working on the project, I found a saved photo that looked good for a poster, which was a man holding a gun up (Right Image), so I pivoted again. I cut him and the flowers out of the background, and added the red box. Put some texture on it to make it look like a wall. Doing the shadows was tricky, but I got there in the end. I did it by making a copy of the images and then erasing the part that wasn't on the red. Then I added the drop shadow to the image, also seen in the Notes (middle image), with all the info to keep it the same, so when the show overlapped, it made it darker in those areas. Second to last, the text, I already knew I was gonna put them on top of a black box to make them pop or have/add a dramatic effect on the poster. The worn-out-looking text also follows the same idea as the boxes behind the text. Finally added a QR code to the poster for more info because I can't list every gun safety tip on one poster.
